A Founder Friday, a New Product, and a New Year reset.
Happy New Year. I hope you had a restful holiday and are easing into 2026 with intention.
I’ll be honest — I haven’t written a Founder Friday since November. I’d love to say I took December off… but the truth is, December took me off. 😭
We closed out the year navigating over 8,000 backorders, operational growing pains, and a lot of behind-the-scenes problem-solving. Thank you — truly — for your patience and grace through it all. It was a feat, and we got through it. But it also marked my first real experience with burnout.

Anyone who knows me knows I work hard. I push. I stretch limits. Somewhere between post-40 clarity and my body waving a very clear white flag, I finally hit a wall and had to slow down. 🙃
And interestingly enough, the very last push before I allowed myself to pause was launching our newest product: the Nap Cap.

It’s been a while since we’ve introduced something completely new — something that required patents, trademarks, and building a category from scratch. But the timing couldn’t have been better, because I’ve now spent the last couple of weeks living in it.
From a planning and reset trip to the cabins (which had zero curtains to block the morning sun‼️), to my final trip of the year — keeping my hair protected while traveling without feeling like I was wearing a bonnet all day — the Nap Cap quietly proved why it needed to exist.

And that’s usually how it goes.
Right when I’m ready to share a product with the world, life confirms the assignment. 💫
The Nap Cap was born years ago during my long trips to China. My body would be ready to sleep, but the sun would still be up — and getting rest meant layering accessories: a scarf or bonnet for my hair, a beanie to feel covered, and an eye mask on top of it all.
It felt unnecessary.
I wanted one piece I could wear through the airport, on the plane, at the spa or around the house. Something that looked intentional, protected my hair like a satin sleep cap, and helped me rest without piling things on my head.
That’s how the Hairbrella® Nap Cap came to life.✨
An all-in-one essential I could keep in my carry-on, reach for on slow mornings, bring to spa appointments, or gift to someone who needs comfort and care in one thoughtful piece.

I’ve been joking with the team that this is the year of the Nap Cap — not because I plan on slowing down, but because it’s my reminder to do better at balance. To honor momentum and rest. To grab moments of peace where I can. And to do so in the elevated, intentional way we design everything at Hairbrella.
The Nap Cap is here.
And so is a new year — one I plan to move through with just a little more balance and care. Join me?
Rain or shine,
Tracey Pickett
