which means it’s the perfect time to talk about something that’s been bugging me for years: hats in the pool.
But me being me, I couldn’t help but notice something else. 👀
For years now, I’ve been on pool watch.
And what I noticed? About 85% of folks hanging in the pool leisurely are wearing some type of hat.
Random trucker hats, baseball caps, even bucket hats... most of the time, not the cutest, and rarely matching the swimsuit.
"Spent today asking people about their hats, where they found them, and why they like to wear them in the pool."
So I got curious. Were they trying to cover up messy hair?
Hide from the sun? Or just keep it cute?
Turns out, mostly it’s to keep the sun out of their face.
But since they knew those hats weren’t pool-proof, they were throwing on any old hat they wouldn’t mind ruining.
Ask me how I know. (I definitely ruined one of my favorite trucker hats in the pool once...it dried with a dent that never came out. But I digress.) 🫠
Which brings me to the real tea.
