Founder Friday: I went to Tokyo for this hat 👀

Hi Hairbrella Family,

If you know me, you know I have a very hard time leaving a good product alone. 😂 And lately, I’ve been obsessing over our Matte Bucket Hat.

When I started Hairbrella, I set out to reinvent the rain hat. The bucket hat is one of the most classic silhouettes there is, but I always thought it could work a whole lot harder.

So when it was time to revisit ours, I did what I always do: I studied the best.

I even traveled to Tokyo and spent time studying some of the most expensive, intricately constructed hats I could find. I turned them over, felt the fabrics, studied the stitching and paid attention to the fit—not because I wanted to copy them, but because I wanted to understand the little details that make something feel exceptional.

And then we took ours to another level.

We improved the fit, refined the stitching and construction, and upgraded the fabric and durability.

And then there’s my favorite part: we formulated a new Cooling Satin lining for the inside.

It still gives your hair the smooth satin protection Hairbrella is known for, but when temperatures heat up, it feels cool and refreshing. When the weather cools down, you still have that soft, protective layer keeping your hair comfortable.

Waterproof on the outside. Cooling satin on the inside. Cute everywhere.

That’s what makes this hat so special to me. It isn’t a rain hat you only pull out when rain is in the forecast. It’s the hat I grab for my daily walks, outdoor festivals, vacation, the occasional pool day—and the one I’m already wearing when a random rainstorm inevitably shows up. ☔😂

It’s truly an all-weather, all-situation bucket hat. Hot, cool, sunny or rainy—you don’t have to check the forecast before deciding whether it belongs in the outfit.

And maybe that’s my favorite kind of luxury: when fashion and function work this hard together. It looks elevated, but it’s built for real life.
