Founder Friday: The Details Matter. How the Rain Scarf quietly got better.

One thing you should know about me: If something is good but not great, I don't let it rest.
That's been especially true with the Rain Scarf.
We first launched it in 2023, and it was a success by most measures. But many of you know my internal rule: if our return rate creeps above 3%, I'm not satisfied. Even when it doesn't—I still ask what could be better.
So we kept going.
Over the two years, we listened closely to your feedback—every DM, review, and email. Some notes were small. Some were blunt. (Someone once described the interior fabric as "burlap," and yes… that one stayed with me.)
But that's the work.
Today, the Rain Scarf is on Version 5, and while it may look simple at first glance, getting it right took real nuance.
Here’s what we refined:
- We updated the interior to a soft knit fabric that’s noticeably gentler on your neck
- We expanded the satin coverage so your hair is fully protected—no gaps, no compromises
- We adjusted the neck opening and sizing so it’s easy to slip on, yet still snug enough to seal in warmth
- We reworked the hood shape, giving it just enough hang time to block wind and rain without falling into your face
- And yes—there’s still plenty of room for curls and volume to breathe, without pressure or flattening
The goal was simple, even if the execution wasn’t: Snug where it needs to be. Forgiving where it matters.
We also made the Rain Scarf more compact and packable, because if you can't easily toss it in your bag or glove compartment, you're less likely to bring it—and that defeats the purpose.
This is what progress looks like for us. Not chasing trends. Not over-engineering. Just listening, refining, and holding ourselves to a higher standard every time.
