POs, Patents, and a Prayer šš½Nine years later, weāre still leading with faith šš½ (and finally back in stock š)
Hey Family š
Earlier this week, Instagram reminded me of a post I shared back on May 6, 2016āthe day I wrote my very first check for Hairbrella. $1,400 for 50 hats.

Ā
Ā
I remember sitting at my desk at work, quietly writing that check before heading to the mailroom to drop it off. Then I came right back to my desk, trying to act normalālike I hadnātĀ just sent $1,400 off into the unknown.
I hadĀ no e-commerce experience. No real strategy. No team. Ā Just an ideaĀ I couldnāt shake and a growing suspicion that I might actually be losing it š

Those firstĀ HairbrellasĀ cost $28 eachĀ to make, not including materials. They werenāt even waterproof.š
The fit was questionableĀ at best. And when I held a focus group after church that Sunday⦠letās just say, theĀ aunties had jokes.Ā š |
But that check was the first step. āØ
This weekānine years laterāI wrote another one.
This time, it was aĀ purchase order for our biggest inventory run ever. Still written in faith. Especially with looming tariffs, retail uncertainty, and all the things that could make a founder hesitate right now. šÆ
Because of your support, weāve gone from a rough prototype toĀ patented products and POs to support an eight-figure business. šš½
From Sunday service focus groups to launching intoĀ REIĀ (Iāll share more soon). From āwhat am I doing?ā to āweāre just getting started.ā
If youāre in aĀ season of uncertainty, starting over, or holding onto an idea no one else quite getsāI hope this reminds you thatĀ one step taken in faithĀ can lead to things youĀ canāt even imagine yet.Ā š« And in case you're wonderingāyes, we'reĀ still holding off on raising prices.š¤š½Ā A few of my favorite best-sellersĀ are finally back in stock and Iām so excited to share them with you. Rain or shine,
Ā
