Founder Friday: The Rain Scarf you asked for is here
Happy Founder Friday!
When I started Hairbrella, we were a rain hat company.
The mission was simple: help women stay polished, protected, and prepared no matter what the weather had planned.
Our first big tagline was “Fearless in Any Forecast” — and years later, that still feels like the assignment. 🫡
But as Hairbrella grew, so did the need for more options.
Because not every forecast, climate, hairstyle, or personality calls for the same kind of protection.
And that brings me to one of your most-requested products.
You LOVED the Classic Rain Scarf.
It became one of our best-selling, most-sold-out pieces because it solved a real problem: keeping your hair protected from rain, wind, and humidity while still looking polished.
But there was one catch…
In warmer months, a thermal knit rain scarf is a lot. 🥵
Every time I saw someone wearing it in May, I’d think, “Okay, where do they live?” And usually the answer was Canada, the UK, or Chicago.
For the rest of us? Spring and summer needed a lighter strategy.
So we made one.
Meet the Lite Rain Scarf — our lightweight, satin-lined, waterproof scarf designed to protect your hair from rain, humidity, and wind without sacrificing style.
It gives you hands-free hair protection that looks intentional — more like a chic scarf than emergency rain gear.
Because sometimes you don’t want to juggle an umbrella.
Sometimes you just want to throw something on, keep moving, and know your hair has backup.
Here’s why I’m so excited about this one:
It’s lightweight.
Made for warmer forecasts, travel days, errands, commutes, brunch, and those “it was sunny five minutes ago” moments.
It’s satin-lined.
So your hair is protected from friction, frizz, breakage, and moisture loss while you’re on the go.
It’s waterproof and hydrophobic.
Designed to help keep rain and moisture out so your style can stay intact.
It’s roomy.
Made to work for natural hair, braids, locs, blowouts, extensions, and everything in between.
It’s adjustable.
The drawstring helps it stay put when the wind starts acting brand new.
And my favorite part?
It folds into itself.
There’s an integrated storage pouch, so you can pack it down and keep it in your bag, car, carry-on, desk drawer — wherever you need a little weather insurance.
I started working on samples last year, and this quickly became one of those products I kept reaching for before it was even officially released.
That’s usually how I know we got it right.
And because this first run is limited, I would not wait.
The Classic Rain Scarf has sold out more times than I can count, and I have a strong feeling the Lite Rain Scarf is about to follow the same path — just with a warmer-weather wardrobe.
Thank you for continuing to tell us what you need.
So much of Hairbrella exists because you asked, commented, DM’d, reviewed, tested, suggested, and challenged us to keep making hair protection even better.
This one is truly a response to you.
And I can’t wait for you to try it.
With love,
Tracey
